This is a fantastic example of the iconic Land Cruiser Prado. This body style was first introduced in April 1990, as the Prado.

The first of the Light Duty Land Cruisers it paved the way for a whole new market of off-roaders. It was largely based on the heavy-duty J70 with a redesigned front grille, front wings, engine bonnet, head lamps, and coil sprung suspension carried over from the previous generation Land Cruiser II. Despite being called Prado in Japan, the names Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser II were still used in other parts of the world. The Prado used a body-on-frame design making it highly capable off-road, the vehicle was marketed toward on-road use.

In Japan, it came with and a four speed automatic transmission. The 1kzte engine was utilized due to its incredible reliability and its compact size. The engine was used throughout the entirety of the 70 series production, proving that it was the correct choice for this chassis. The lineup included 2-door and 4-door versions available in SX, LX or EX (4-door only) grades of trim. The coil spring suspension was carried over from the previous generation Land Cruiser II to improve handling and comfort. The absorber stages could be switched electronically with a button inside.

This Prado is an SX trim witch also included a premium color pallet interior and 3 row seating option. The color pallet is warm tones ranging from tan to toffee and working into coffee. The fabrics are soft and have interesting patterns. The plastics and vinyl’s are clean despite the age. The previous owner took great pride in this vehicle, you can tell by the quality of all the interior.

The exterior of the vehicle is a gorgeous metallic wine color with pewter accents. The color pops in the sun and is complemented by the Bronze alloy wheels and newly upgraded 285/75/r16 Venom MT tires.
