1972 GMC Jimmy K5 Custom For Sale.

SOLD  $117,850 | EARTH MOTORCARS | CARROLLTON, TX

It’s been 50 years since this Victory Red 1972 GMC Jimmy rolled off of the factory floor, but trucks get better with age, and restorations don’t hurt either. This particular Jimmy underwent a full frame-off restoration in 2020 and now Earth Motorcars will sell it to you. All you have to do is bring them $117,850. It’s a premium (yet justifiable) price, but it’s also a damn fine rig, and everyone knows you get what you pay for.

1972 GMC Jimmy: A Premium Version of the K5 Blazer

The GMC Jimmy was an upmarket (and we think better looking) corporate twin to the Chevrolet K5 Blazer SUV. While the K5 Blazer was introduced to the world in 1969 as a competitor to the wildly popular Ford Bronco, International Harvester Scout and Jeep Wagoneer, GMC waited until 1970 to release the Jimmy. The 1972 Jimmy is part of the first of three generations of Jimmys, which would eventually give way to the GMC Yukon in 1991.

The GMC Jimmy is a lovely truck, but is it worth $108,995? Well, a truck is worth whatever someone will pay for it, but taking a look at the Classic.com data for 1st Generation GMC Jimmys tells you that there have been a couple comparable builds in the last 18 months that have sold for even more! They actually both sold at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale in 2021 for $110,000 and $115,000.
