About the Capable Toyota Land Cruiser fj60

The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60, introduced to the world in 1981, was the successor of the hallowed FJ40, a model that had been in the market since 1960 and actually stayed in production all the way until 2001. It has a larger, more modern looking body that really helped to establish Toyota as a major player in the emerging SUV market.

The FJ60 inherited its dad’s 4.2L inline 6-cylinder 2F gasoline engine that made 135 horsepower and 200 foot lbs of torque. That power plant, along with its state-of-the-art-for-its-time 4wd system, was plenty to power the 60 off-road, all while treating passengers to an upgraded interior, air conditioning and even a rear heater.

As mentioned in the intro, FJ60s are in high demand right now. A peek at the Classic.com auction data shows that while this TLC comes in a bit above the rolling 5-year average sale, values are steadily creeping up. And surely, this example is priced fairly given its condition, low mileage and high-quality modifications.
