This 1966 Chevrolet C10 Panel Truck is a pickup-chassis panel delivery body, built on the 1/2-ton, 115-inch-wheelbase chassis. Panel trucks like this were sold as commercial-spec vehicles without a separate factory trim designation, and most left the line with an inline-six and three-speed manual behind a bare-bones work cab. This one has been reworked into a proper resto-mod, pairing its enclosed steel cargo body with a modern V8 drivetrain and a two-tone repaint while keeping the overall look period-correct.

Power comes from a GM 350 V8 built by Steve's Machine Shop in Little Valley, New York, fitted with an Edelbrock carb and true dual exhaust. It's backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic overdrive transmission and 3.73 rear gears, a combination built for comfortable highway cruising rather than the low-speed delivery-route duty these trucks were originally geared for.

The chassis has been updated to match: the front end is lowered 4 inches, with front disc brakes, rear drums, and stabilizer bars front and rear for more predictable handling than the truck left the factory with. It rides on 15-inch Chevy Rally wheels. Inside, the factory bench and blank dash have given way to front bucket seats and a console, plus a new dash gauge pod for keeping tabs on the engine, while the cargo area retains a refinished wood floor. New door rubber seals, LED lighting throughout, and fresh chrome on the door handles, grille, and front and rear bumpers round out the work. The truck is finished in metallic beige with a metallic white top.

Panel trucks from this generation don't survive in the numbers pickups do they were bought as work vehicles for florists, delivery routes, and tradesmen, and most were used hard and scrapped. 1966 also sits near the end of this body style's run on the pickup chassis, as Chevrolet's cab-forward Chevy Van, introduced in 1964, increasingly took over the delivery role through the second half of the decade. A surviving example from this window, built out with a V8 and overdrive rather than left as a stock delivery rig, isn't something you run into often.
