1985 Chevy K30: A Rare 1-Ton, 4x4 Squarebody
The third generation of the C/K series is a range of trucks by Chevrolet and GMC from 1973 to 1991, a whopping 18 years. GM called these bad boys the “Rounded Line,” but the Chevy faithful quickly bucked that marketing effort, instead referring to these as the “Squarebody.” To their credit, this line is much more square than it is round.
In the open we mentioned the rarity of this particular model. A quick scan on Classic.com data for the last year, shown below, will show you that there have been only a couple 1-ton Squarebodies sold via auction in the last 12 months, and even less of the K30 variant. We found two others, one that went for slightly higher and one that went for slightly lower than this example.
