This 1990 Land Rover Defender 110 is a left-hand-drive former British military vehicle that underwent an extensive specialist rebuild in 2013.
The Defender was stripped down and comprehensively refurbished by a military contractor using a large number of new genuine Land Rover and Wolf-specification components. It is not a Wolf, but it was rebuilt using many Wolf parts.
The rebuild included a new-old-stock 300Tdi engine, R380 5-speed manual gearbox, Wolf axles, a new genuine Land Rover bulkhead, replacement doors and additional body panels.
It has covered approximately 8,500 miles since the rebuild.
Following completion, the vehicle was used as a specialist trials and demonstration vehicle. It was initially used by FLIR Systems Ltd and later formed part of the Clark Masts SPICE project, when it was fitted with a large rear-mounted mast and displayed at a defense trade show in 2017.
It has since been carefully maintained and used at military shows and events.

Condition
The quality of the rebuild remains evident throughout the vehicle. The bodywork is exceptionally straight for an ex-military Defender and the chassis remains in excellent condition. The use of a new genuine bulkhead, replacement doors and other body panels during the rebuild means this is far removed from the typical tired or heavily corroded ex-MOD Defender. The interior is similarly tidy and retains much of its military character, while additions such as air conditioning, acoustic insulation, upgraded seating and Bluetooth audio make it considerably more usable.
History
The vehicle comes with a printout of its military history and reportedly served with the Royal Logistic Corps. After leaving military service, it was not simply converted for civilian use. Instead, it became part of a specialist development and demonstration program, first with FLIR Systems and later with Clark Masts. That combination of military provenance, specialist post-service use and the 2013 rebuild makes this a particularly interesting Defender.
