Overview
Japan may have agreed to no longer pursue war machinery in the aftermath of WWII, but that hasn’t stopped Toyota from building one of the most prolific combat platforms in the world through their variety of 70-series Land Cruiser vehicles - and now’s your chance to own the world’s most beloved technical (https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/type-1-technical/).
This 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ75 was plucked out of the Middle East with surprisingly low miles and wear. The ‘75 is the heavy-duty version of the Land Cruiser pickup, with rear springs rated for a ton of payload. In its past, someone also upgraded the rear axle by trussing it, which increases the strength of the axle tubes and their load handling capacity.
Other slight upgrades extend to the interior, where an ice-cold aftermarket A/C was installed, the seats were recovered in sued and leather, and windows were tinted - makes you wonder what “Cowboy Cadillac” translates to in Arabic, because that’s what they essentially built this FZJ75 into before shipping it here to the states. Otherwise, this is a bone-stock and well-preserved Toyota pickup with a five-speed manual, two-speed manual-shift transfercase, and carbureted 1FZ-F 4.5L straight six with approximately 56,000 miles on everything. The paint is also in excellent shape overall.
This FZJ75 was imported from the country of Oman earlier this year, and underwent a round of maintenance here at Car Cave, including all filters, fluids flushed, carburetor adjusted, and a handful of coolant hoses replaced.
Ready for the farm or the frontline… whichever you prefer.
