Selling a 1997 Range Rover 4.6 HSE with just 103K original miles. This is a well preserved, largely original P38 with excellent ownership history and desirable factory/OEM equipment. This truck has had only two owners from new and has spent its entire life in the Pacific Northwest. I have the original factory window sticker and owners manuals. It has a clean title and no accident history.
Finished in original Alpine White with Sandstone leather interior, the truck presents well for its age. The exterior paint is entirely original and in excellent condition, with no history of accident repair or repainting. The Sandstone leather and interior surfaces are in excellent condition as well. The 4.6L V8 starts easily, runs and drives very good. The automatic transmission shifts normally and the brakes function normally. Power windows, power seats and sunroof all operate normally. The tires are matching and in excellent condition.
The truck is equipped with several desirable OEM options, including:
- Front-mounted winch
- Front brush/bush guard
- Optional six-disc CD changer
The original Electronic Air Suspension has been disabled and the vehicle has been converted to conventional springs and shocks. This eliminates the aging EAS and its associated maintenance issues.
There are currently several electrical issues that I am disclosing for transparency:
- Left rear tail/parking lamp remains illuminated and can drain the battery.
- Both left-side turn signals are inoperative; the right-side indicators work normally.
- HVAC air distribution controls do not change the selected vents.
Other know issues:
- Engine and trans oils are leaking.
- Air conditioning is not operational.
- Headlight wiper/washers do not operate.
I am selling this Range Rover as an honest, usable P38 with excellent provenance rather than representing it as a fully sorted collector vehicle. The combination of two-owner history, 103K original miles, original paint, excellent Sandstone interior, clean title, no accident history, lifelong Pacific Northwest ownership, and desirable OEM equipment makes this an unusually interesting example for someone who knows and appreciates the P38. A good candidate for a P38 enthusiast who would rather start with a fundamentally solid, well-preserved truck and address the remaining electrical and mechanical issues than purchase an unknown high-mileage example.
