Our love of the North American Spec Defender runs deep, having sold over 1,100 NAS Defenders in the past nearly 30 years. So it is not much of a surprise that we were skeptical of the Defender wannabe INEOS Grenadier that arrived in the States in 2024. We have just taken this Grenadier in part-trade on a 1997 NAS D90 wagon, and we are happy to admit that the INEOS is actually quite good, with nearly everything about it very pleasing. Build quality, interior layout, engine power, road feel, transmission… all spot on. And the cockpit layout is cool what with the industrial-type switchgear and overhead control panel. In short, we like it!
