This 100 series was built to go beyond. The second owner spent 10 years building it into the capable unit you see. The list of parts and modifications are vast and have to be seen in person.
The 100 Series continued the long tradition of unbridled engineering to achieve vehicles that could not be stopped. In Australia they would say "If you want to go see the Outback, take a Land Rover. If you want to get home again, take a Landcruiser."
The 100 Series was Toyotas first Land Cruiser to offer Independent Front Suspension. This was to increase the on road confidence and create a more luxurious driving experience. Since then all Land Cruiser have offered a IFS system. The 100 Series grew in size and amenities over its previous generation. The 100 series still offered different power plants and transmissions, though many offering were the same as the 80 series. This updated 2UZ-FE 4.7 liter engine got a power upgrade through its TRD Supercharger, Doug Thorley headers, Full Custom Exhaust and electronic UNI-Chip tune. This 2UZ carries a new wideband AFR gauge to maintain its upgrades. These TRD Supercharged V8 engine create an estimated 400 HP and 434 FT-LBS.
This specific 100 series has Numerous off-road options that take it to a whole other level. First of all 2 ARB Air lockers mated to its onboard ARB air system. Factory Center locker and Marlin Crawler Gear reduction and Nitro 4.88 rear gear. The Center lock is available on all units via a button on the dash, but the front and rear units are on a retro fitted 80 series switch near the steering column. A nomad HD transmission valve body was added with the Torque Converter and lockout for good engagement. An additional Trans Temp gauge was also added when the external Trans cooler was added.
The interior has the manual climate control and simple Toyota stereo. Factory Toyota Multidisc CD Changer with magazine and Cassette tape deck are ready for any classic music. The tan Lux interior is in good shape with no burns or rips. All carpet and floor mats are intact without damage as well. The Seats are still supple and adjust without issue, the second row is very adjustable and easily removed if more cargo space is desired. The body is a great example of classic Toyota style with Dark Black paint without over fenders. The Factory Alloy wheels are a perfect match with any MT tire. A matching wheel is also attached on the swing out Slee spare tire carrier bumper. Along with the wheel a jerry can holder is also on its own swing out. The Front bumper is also a Slee to match the rear, with a Warn M1200 winch and Masterpull synth rope.
All and all this a fantastic example of a 100 series with some of the best options available.
