Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 28th year in the classic and muscle car business. With the exception of a few prototypes, the Willys-Overland CJ-2A "Universal Jeep" was the first full production civilian jeep when it debuted on July 17th, 1945. Based upon the American Bantam-designed MB, along with "borrowed" Ford and Willys versions, the CJ-2A was similar but had features suited for agricultural use. Lower gearing, a sturdier transmission, and an optional draw-bar were a few of the changes that allowed these unique buggies to be used as makeshift tractors. This 1948 Willys CJ-2A is a cool example of an early civilian Jeep albeit a fairly primitive one. A look beneath the hood reveals a 1966 Chevy 327 V8 that's topped with an Edelbrock 4bbl carburetor which provides plenty of torque for off-road excursions. Additional features include a T-90 3-speed manual transmission, a Dana 18 transfer case, Dana 25 front axle, Dana 41 rear axle, a flat-tow rig, winch, black soft top, and big 34x9.50-15LT tires wrapped around steel wagon-style wheels. This early CJ would make an ideal ranch buggy. If this old mountain goat is your kind of cool, call the team that can make your dream a reality. Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service dealership that can assist with worldwide delivery, insurance, and financing options.
